Stone Mountain The true Moment

This is a poem by Dr.Eugene Hollahan he gave it to me in friendship and I want to share it with as many people as I can.
If a bird cast itself across the stones face altering the impersonal proud rock so it changed to the bland backdrop of a significant act.
If the bird spoke to you across the water(which moved too,as the bird moved, with the winds caress both moving with the slow gestures of the living trees).
If you saw the bird throw itself athwart the bleak grey rock(where you lay on the sand under the flaming sun).If you cast your heart upon the water in a gesture of response.
If you turned from your pleasure or pain, forgetting yourself, and watched the bird juxtaposed upon the stone like a wish in a dream. Not from an eyes corner but exclusive and direct.
That bird is still flying against the rocks paralyzed face, the water and trees and air are your companions still. The pain and pleasure you abjured are what,at this moment you will be.
